PinzTronix is an upgraded drop-in replacement ignition system for your gas-powered Pinzgauer. This conversion can be done in a few hours with basic hand tools and a timing light. There are only 3 parts in the kit: A new distributor w/wires, ignition coil, and voltage converter. Performance is outstanding!

PinzTronix advances timing on a pre-programmed curve based on engine RPM, similar to the original Bosch ignition, but without using weights or vacuum. The unit is 100% electronic, and fires multiple times on each power stroke. The system comes with a pre-assembled harness and is ready to install. Only 4 connections need to be made. New plugs and plug wires are also included.

The ignition coil is matched to the module and is designed to ramp up quickly in order to fire multiple times with each power stroke. The power converter is rated at 20 amps at 12 volts DC, and can also power a phone charger or radio. The converter power source lead easily plugs into the fuel solenoid harness and doesn’t require any original Pinzgauer ignition wiring.

Pertronix parts are used in this system because Pertronix has a history of durability and dependability and new parts are easily available. This system uses a premium Flamethrower III module which fires multiple times and isn’t polarity sensitive. You can also leave the key on without burning the unit up, unlike some other ignitions. Note: This unit isn’t compatible with fuel injection.

It is recommended that you have previous experience replacing distributors, know how to use a timing light, and can locate TDC on the compression stroke of cylinder #1 before ordering this ignition system.
